Please see biographies of professors at the 5th OrkesterkamP 2010, to be held in Avditorij Portorož/Portorose 23th-28th August 2010. This year Johannes Stert (www.johannes-stert.de) and Chiara Vidoni will join us as conductors. Maestro Stert will give masterclasses for conductors as well. We invited two professors for additional instruments - Tanja Mršnjak Petrej (oboe, bassoon) and Željko Kertez (tuba). New names are also Dejan Prešiček (saxophone) and Ivan Bošnjak (trombone).
László Seeman (French Horn) born in Budapest, 26. of march 1975, graduated in 1999 from the Franz Liszt Academy of Music (Budapest)as a student of Ádám Friedrich. Althougha medical condition forced him to resign his post with the Northern German Radio Symphony Orchestra-Hamburg (a position he held from 1998-2003), as well as a subsidiary role in the Bayerische Rundfunk Orchestra, a sampling of activities offer evidence of Seeman's enduring stature as a french horn player of the highest echelon and renown. Seeman began placing in competitions in highschool, starting with a first-place finish in the National Conservatory Competition-Miskolc (1993) through his years at the Academy of Music in Budapest Ph. Farkas Horn Competition (first prize, 1997), and on to the international platform, with wins in the Santa Barbara-based "American Horn Competition" (first prize 1997), in France at Toulon (first prize, 1998) and the ARD Competition in Munich (second prize; first not awarded, 1999). Additional prizes include two third place finishes (where no first prize was awarded) at Markneukirchen (1996) and at Prague spring (1997) while at Porcia (Italy) in 1998, Seeman won second (no first prize awarded). As a clinician, Seeman's experience with top-level orchestras has helped him to prepare a number of horn players for successful solo horn auditions with orchestras such as the ORF Orchestra-Vienna as well as the Hamburg Opera to name only a few. He has presented masterclasses in Japan, Slovenia as well as across Hungary, notably at the Budapest Summer Academy (2003 and 2004) and the summer music institute at Sárospatak (2004, 2005 and 2006). From 2004-2007, Seeman was a teacher at the Egressy Béni Conservatory of Music-Csepel as well as assuming an adjunct position at the St. István Király Conservatory of Music.
Dušan Sodja studied clarinet at Academy of Music in Ljubljana with Alojz Zupan and received Diploma in 1995. Afterwards he studied at the Salzburg Mozarteum with Alois Brandhofer and Christine Gillhaus and, in 1998, was awarded a Master's degree. He also attended masterclasses given by Gerald Pachinger, Jiri Hlavac and Vincenzo Mariozzi. The performance of Mozart's Concerto brought him the Academy of Music’s Prešeren Prize in 1995. In 1992 he played first clarinet in the Youth Symphony Orchestra in Bayreuth, and a year later also in the Mediterranean Youth Orchestra in France. He has given concerts throughout Europe and has performed as a soloist with the Slovenian Philharmonic Orchestra, the Symphony Orchestra of the Darmstadt State Opera, the Žilina Chamber Orchestra from Slovakia, the Bogdan Warchal Slovak Chamber Orchestra and the Celje String Orchestra. He has been working regurarly with the Slovenian Chamber Orchestra, Consortium Musicum Orchestra and Academia Ars Musicae. Since 1994 he has been playing with pianist Tatjana Kaučič. He is a founder-member of the Slovenian Clarinet Quartet and a member of the Slovenian Clarinet Choir. Since 1997 he is clarinetist of the Slovenian Philharmonic Orchestra and professor of clarinet at the Ljubljana High school of Music. www.claripiano.net
Jože Bogolin was born in 1987 in Brežice, Slovenia. As a soloist he performed a concert for the orchestra and marimba with SNG Opera and Ballet Ljubljana as well as with the Slovenian Philharmonics. Regularly he works with orchestras and chamber groups in Slovenia and abroad (RTV Slovenija, SNG Opera and Ballet Ljubljana, Slovenian Philharmonic Orchestra, Orchestra EUYO, stories from Senovega, and Krško Zidani most, Symphony Orchestra Music School Krsko, Duo marimb, Percumanija ansemble ...). For the execution of the concert with Orchestra SNG Opera and Ballet Ljubljana playing Keiko Abe Prism he received a student Prešeren award in 2008. During his study he received three gold plaquettes and first prizes in national Slovenian competitions in the years 2002, 2005, 2008, gold and second prize in a competition in Povolleto (Italy) and a sixth place in 2005 at the European timpani competition in Paris. In october 2008 he played two concerts with Katarzyna Mycko, an acknowledged timpanist, the same year he participated in the quartet of N. J. Živković. Currently he is studying at the Academy of Music in Ljubljana with prof. Boris Šurbek, as well as continues education abroad (by: K. Abe, L. Albert, J. Beck, M. Kamiya, P. Sadlo, B. Bacanu, P. Erskine, E. Sammut, K. Mycket, R . Van sice, N. J. Živković ...).
Jure Gradišnik was born on 22nd March 1983 in Slovenj Gradec, Slovenia. He studied at the Academy of Music iwith prof. Stanko Arnold, which he completed with distinction in 2006. From 2008 he studies at the Mozarteum in Salzburg with prof. Hans Gansch. In 2003 he became a sholar of YAMAHA. He won several national competitions prizes. In 2005 he won 1st prize at the state competition of Slovenian musicians and received the Student Prešeren Award on the Academy of Music in Ljubljana. He regularly attends seminars and international summer schools of recognized tumpet playrs such as B. Nilson, J. Thompson, B. Shew et al. As a teacher he works in the School of Music Department of St. Stanislav. He is a member of the SNG Opera and Ballet Ljubljana Brass Quintett and trio Seraphim. As soloist he has already performed with the Chamber String Orchestra of the Slovenian Philharmonics, with SNG Opera and Ballet Ljubljana and the Slovenian Philharmonics. He is currently employed as solo trumpet at the SNG Opera and Ballet Ljubljana.
Dejan Prešiček was born in Celje in 1970. He graduated from the Music Academy in Frankfurt and continued his studies at Jean-Marie Londeix's master class in Bordeaux where he won the gold medal and the prize of the city of Bordeaux for saxophone and for chamber music. At the international competition »Pierre Lantier« in Paris he won the 3eme Grand Prix for chamber music.
Judith Carpenter is a graduate on flute and piccolo of the Victorian College of the Arts, Australia, where she studied with Mardi McSullea and Susan Barker. Former teachers include Leslie Barklamb, Margaret Crawford, Vernon Hill, Prudence Davis and Frederick Shade in Australia, Carlos Bruneel in Brussels and Patricia Morris in London. Judith is currently enrolled in a Master of Music (Performance) at the Sydney Conservatorium, studying flute with Alexa Still and Geoffrey Collins, as well as studying piccolo privately with Rosamund Plummer. In Australia, Judith has worked as a casual player with the Melbourne, Adelaide, Sydney and Tasmanian Symphony Orchestras, and with Orchestra Victoria. She held a Second Flute/Piccolo contract with the T.S.O and a Principal Piccolo/Alternative Principal Flute contract with the Stavanger Symphony Orchestra in Norway. In 1998 Judith was offered the position of Principal Piccolo with the Orquesta Filarmonica de Gran Canaria and in the same year she reached the final of the Recording Prize of the Ninth Vienna International Music Competition. Recently she was a finalist in the 2010 UPOL-ova Svirel International Music Competition in Slovenia, winning one of the sponsor’s prizes. Judith has broadcast live for the ABC in Hobart for “Sunday Live” and for 2MBS-FM in Sydney. She performed on piccolo at the 2002 National Flute Convention, and at the 2006 Sydney Flute Academy Flute Festival. Judith has also performed concerti with the Melbourne Musicians and the Pro Musica Orchestra. She has given a recital for the RMIT lunchtime recital series, and has also taken part in recitals for the Melba Hall lunchtime recital series at the University of Melbourne, and the Verbruggen Hall lunchtime recital series at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music.
Ivan Bošnjak was born in 1981 in Osijek. He took his first lessons in trombone with his father and then continued his education in the Music School in Šibenik, in the class of prof. Mihajlo Bošnjak where he graduated in 2000. During that time he won the first prize at the 38 National competition of students of music and dance in Rijeka. In 2000 he enrolled at the Music academy „Ino Mirkovich“ in Lovran where he studied in the class of Branimir Slokar and Uroš Polanc. During his studies he won the first prize at the International music competition held in Alice bel Colle in Italy. While still attending his final year of studies he won the audition for the position of Principal trombone at the Croatian national theatre Orchestra in Zagreb. He graduated at the Music academy of the University in Zagreb in 2005.
He has attended master classes with the world renowed soloists such as Joseph Alessi, Ben van Dijk, Michel Becquet, Christian Linberg, Jorgen van Rijen and others. Ivan is the founder and President of the Croatian Association of Trombone and Tuba players – Busina and beside the position of Pricipal trombone, he also holds the position of trombone teacher at Elly Basic Music school in Zagreb.
Matevž Bajde initially attended oboe lessons but "fell in love" with percussion in a Band. He graduated from the Academy of Music in Ljubljana with prof. B. Šurbek. He is employed in the Slovenian Philharmonic Orchestra. He also teaches percussion at secondary level. Bajde plays also in various chamber ensembles and bands and orchestras. He is interested and fascinated by the links between the percussion and other artistic or scientific practices. |










Johannes Stert was born in 1963, in Freiburg im Breisgau, Germany. He began his musical education with lessons in piano, violin and trombone. In 1980, he won the First Prize of the German Government’s program, “The Young Make Music.” As a result, he earned a scholaship to the International Music Camp in Interlochen/USA. He was commended for “Excellence” for his conductor’s examination at the Cologne Conservatory.
Chiara Vidoni started her musical studies at the School of Music of the Association “Euritmia” of Povoletto, Udine, Italy, where she studied piano, clarinet and harmony. On 2000 she graduated at the University of Trieste in History of Muisc with a Dissertation titled “Evolution of the wind band instrumentation in Western Europe after II World War”.. On 2001 she took her diploma in clarinet, as private student with prof. Franco Brusini, at the Conservatorium of Trieste, Italy. On 2003 she graduated in Wind Band Conducting and Instrumentation at Hogeschool fur muziek of Maastricht with professor Jo Conjaerts. On 2005 she has been half-finalist at the World Conducting Contest at the WMC in Kerkrade, Netherlands and she has been admitted at the Hogeschool fur muziek di Maastricht at the course of Symphonic Orchestra conducting with prof. Jan Stulen (Graduation on June 2007). On 2005 she ahs been awarded with a WASBE scholarship and she attended a seminar at the University of Michigan with prof. Michael Haitcock and prof. Steven Davis. She has been invited as guest conductor in Italy, Austria and Netherlands. She is member of Jury at the International Wind band Contest in Vila Franca de Xira, Portugal, and at the International Wind and Percussion Ensemble Contest in Villacidro, Sardinia, Italy, At the presnt she is artistic and musical director in the Associazione Musicale of Bertioo and she studies Composition at the Conservatorium of Udine with professor Renato Miani.
Tanja Mršnjak Petrej was born on 16 Feburary 1973. She started her music carreer in Velenje and continued it at the Academy of Music where she finished her studies with excellent success. During her academic year, she took part to numerous competitions as a solo artist, from which she return with many first prizes. As a student, Tanja already became a permanent member of the Slovene Philarmonic Orchestra. She played several solo parts with the Orchestra of the Academy of Music, the National Slovene Television Orchestra and some junior orchestras around the country, whereas, as a member of chamber orchestras, she played in Slovenia as well as abroad. Tanja was the third Slovenian who took part at the JEUNESSES MUSICALES WORLD ORCHESTRA. Now she teaches oboe at the Music School Fran Korun Koželjski in Velenje. Her pupils regurarly participate in many national and international competitions, taking home great successes. From time to time she plays oboe in the most appeciated orchestras in Slovenia, such as the Maribor Philarmonic Orchestra, Slovene Police Wind Orchestra, Orchestra of the Slovene Army and Slovene Philarmonic Orchestra. In 2009, Tanja Mršnjak Petrej received the first prize with outstanding success at the internation competition for oboe players in Krško.





Željko Kertez was born in 1981 in Koprivnica. After he finished elementary school in Koprivnica, he enrolled in Varaždin Music School in the class of prof. Stjepan Rukljić. During his education he won the first prize at the 38 National competition of students of music and dance in Rijeka. Soon afterwards he passed the audition for the Orchestra of the Middle European Inititiative, where he played for two seasons. After he graduated in the Music school in Varaždin, he enrolled in the class of prof. Šime Vulelija and Danijel Rajković at the Music academy of the University of Zagreb where he graduated in 2005. In 2005 he passed the audition for the Mediterranean Youth Orchestra, where he played for one season. He has attended master classes with the eminent world soloists such as Jens Bjorn Larssen, Henrik Jan Rennes, Ben van Dijk, Mel Culbertson, Walter Hilgers and others.
